PNI’s 418A Portamatic Evolution is designed to give you tight floors and exact nail placement for 3/8" to 5/8" Engineered and Horizontal or Vertical Grain Bamboo flooring requiring the use of an 18 ga nail to reduce the risk of splitting the tongue of the wood or dimpling the top prefinished surface. (Nails are available in lengths of 1-1/4 In. # 41801 and 1-1/2 In. # 41802) Today’s imported and prefinished floors need special attention for the nail placement and protecting the top edge of the factory finish. The 418A delivers with an 18 ga nail and adjustable base plate second to none. First, it sets against the front of the tongue, reducing the risk of damaging the top edge of the flooring. Second, it features a shim-less height adjustment through the action of an easy to adjust cam mechanism.
